The HoLEP Academy Programme at Hill clinic – Sofia, Bulgaria

The Hill Clinic HoLEP Academy is an intensive four-day educational programme specifically designed for practising urologists seeking advanced training in laser enucleation surgery.

Developed in collaboration with Quanta System, the programme provides participants with direct exposure to high-volume HoLEP practice using the Cyber Ho Magneto 150W platform — one of the most sophisticated holmium laser systems currently available for endourological applications.

Combining theoretical instruction, live surgical observation, case-based discussion, and technology-focused training, the curriculum is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of both the scientific foundations and practical execution of modern HoLEP surgery.

 Curriculum Highlights

Live Surgical Demonstrations

Participants observe multiple HoLEP procedures performed by experienced surgeons, with continuous intraoperative commentary covering surgical strategy, anatomical landmarks, laser settings, and technical decision-making.

Laser Physics and Technology

Dedicated sessions explore the physical principles of holmium laser energy, pulse modulation, fibre technology, power optimisation, and advanced system settings relevant to efficient tissue enucleation and haemostasis.

Applied Surgical Anatomy

Detailed lectures review lower urinary tract anatomy, surgical capsule identification, adenoma morphology, sphincter preservation strategies, and key anatomical landmarks for safe enucleation.

Patient Selection and Preoperative Planning

Participants learn contemporary approaches to patient evaluation, prostate volume assessment, imaging interpretation, risk stratification, and treatment planning.

Intraoperative Troubleshooting and Complication Management

Special attention is given to the prevention and management of capsular perforation, bleeding, difficult apical dissection, morcellation challenges, and postoperative functional complications.

Advanced Case Review

Complex and challenging clinical scenarios are analysed through multidisciplinary discussion, allowing participants to refine operative judgement and decision-making.
